Implementation of Radioactive Waste Disposal Plans. - The disposal of low and intermediate level radioactive waste shall be considered in above or below grade near surface disposal facilities. The locations for this disposal shall be designated by the DENR, in accordance with established safety requirements and environmental standards.
The disposal of high-level radioactive waste shall be by deep geological repository until such time that the repository is filled with its maximum capacity and is sealed with finality. The repository shall be managed in such manner as determined by the PhilATOM.
