Assistance to Cooperative Bank. - Whenever a cooperative bank organized under this Code is distressed or may need assistance in the rehabilitation of its financial condition or to avoid bankruptcy, the Monetary Board of the Central Bank of the Philippines shall designate an official of the Central Bank or a person of recognized competence in banking or finance as receiver or conservator of the said bank pursuant to the provisions of Section 29 of Republic Act. No. 265, as amended.
