Payment of Salary and Allowances to the Heirs of Uniformed Personnel. – In case any uniformed personnel has been officially confirmed as missing in action under any of the circumstances provided in the preceding section, the Chief of the PNP, Fire or Jail Force, as the case may be, shall direct payment of the absent uniformed personnel's monthly salary and allowances and other emoluments pertinent thereto his/her heirs for their support for a maximum period of one (1) year from the date of commencement of absent or when last heard from as those kidnapped or captured by lawless elements.
