Categories of Personnel. – The Service shall consist of the following categories of officers and employees:
(a) Chiefs of Mission, Class I and II;
(b) Career Ministries;
(c) Foreign Service Officers, Class I, II, III, and IV;
(d) Foreign Service Staff Officers, Class I, II, III and IV;
(e) Foreign Service Staff Employees, Class I, II, and III;
(f) Alien or locally hired employees; and
(g) Honorary Consuls.
