The City Jail Warden.

a. The city jail warden must be a citizen of the Philippines, a resident of the City of Las Pias, of good moral character, a holder of a college degree in psychology, psychiatry, sociology, social work or criminology from a recognized college or university, and a first grade civil service eligible or its equivalent. He must have acquired experience practicing his profession for at least three (3) years immediately preceding the date of his appointment.

b. The city jail warden shall receive such compensation, emoluments and allowances as may be determined by law.

c. The city jail warden shall be under the direct supervision of the Department of the Interior and Local Government, shall take charge of the City Jail and shall:

1. Develop plans and strategies, and upon approval thereof by the city mayor, implement the same, particularly those which have to do with custody and safekeeping of inmates, jail administration and management, and other programs that are helpful in the reformation of inmates, and projects which the city mayor is empowered to implement and which the Sangguniang Panlungsod is empowered to provide;

2. Recommend to the Sangguniang Panlungsod and advise the city mayor on all matters related to jail services in the City;

3. Be in the front line in the development of measures for a more efficient and effective city jail system; and

4. Perform such other duties and functions and exercise such other powers as provided for under Republic Act No. 6975, otherwise known as the PNP Law, Republic Act No. 7160, otherwise known as the Local Government Code of 1991, and those that are prescribed by law, ordinance or relevant Department of the Interior and Local Government's rules and regulations.
