The National Research and Development System in Agriculture and Fisheries. - The Department, in coordination with the Department of Science and Technology and other appropriate agencies and research institutions shall enhance, support and consolidate the existing National Research and Development System in Agriculture and Fisheries within six (6) months from the approval of this Act. Provided, That fisheries research and development shall be pursued separately, from but in close coordination with that of agriculture.
