The City Fire Station Service.- (a) There shall be established in the City at least one (1) fire station with adequate personnel, fire fighting facilities and equipment, subject to the standards, rules and regulations as may be promulgated by the Department of the Interior and Local Government.
The City shall provide the necessary land or site of the station.
(b) The city fire station service shall be headed by a city fire marshal whose qualifications shall be as those provided for under Republic Act No. 6975, otherwise known as the Philippine National Police Law.
(c) The city fire marshal shall receive such compensation, emoluments and allowances as may be determined by law.
(d) The city fire marshal shall take charge of the city fire station, and shall:
(1) Develop plans and strategies and, upon approval thereof by the city mayor, implement the same particularly those which have to do with fire prevention, control and management, and projects which the city mayor is empowered to implement and which the sangguniang panlungsod is empowered to provide;
(2) Recommend to the sangguniang panlungsod and advise the city mayor on all matters related to fire services in the City;
(3) Be in the frontline in the development of measures for fire protection, prevention and suppression, rescue and evacuation, and other services intended for the safety and security of life and property in the City; and
(4) Perform such other duties and functions and exercise such other powers as provided for under Republic Act No. 6975, otherwise known as the PNP Law; Republic Act No. 7160, otherwise known as the Local Government Code of 1991, and those that are prescribed by law, ordinance, or relevant Department of the Interior and Local Government's rules and regulations.
