The City of Isabela. - The Municipality of Isabela shall be converted into a component city to be known as the City of Isabela, hereinafter referred to as the City, which shall comprise the present territory of the Municipality of Isabela, Province of Basilan. The territorial jurisdiction of the City shall be within the present metes and bounds of the Municipality of Isabela, as follows:
Bounded on the East by the Municipality of Lamitan, along points 1 to 3;
Bounded on the South by the Municipality of Sumisip, along points 3 to 4 and by the Municipality of Maluso, along points 4 to 5;
Bounded on the West by the Municipality of Lantawan along points 5 to 8;
Bounded on the North by San Rafael Bay, Isabela Channel and Sulu Sea including Malamawi Island.
Beginning at a point marked "1" being the mouth of the Balagtasan River; along the course of the river to Balagtasan Bridge to point "2" thence:
S. 15-00 'E., 13,600.00 m. to point 3; N. 88-00 'W., 11,200.00 m. to point 4;
N. 88-00 'W., 2,900.00 m. to point 5; due North, 4,800.00 m. to point 6;
N. 21-00 'W., 2,900.00 m. to point 7; N. 05-30 'W., 3,600.00 m. to point 8;
Thence along the coastal line to the point of beginning including the Islands of Malamawi and Lampinigan, Manulug and Insabdahon with seat of government at Narangay Sunrise Village;
Containing an area of twenty-two thousand three hundred and seventy-three hectares (22,373 has.).
The foregoing provision shall be without prejudice to the resolution by the appropriate agency or forum of existing boundary disputes or cases involving questions of territorial jurisdiction between the City of Isabela and the adjoining local government units.
