Water Quality Variance for Geothermal and Oil and Gas Exploration. - The Department may provide variance in water quality criteria and standards for geothermal exploration that encounters re-injection constraints: Provided, That there shall be provision for adequate protection of beneficial use of water bodies, downstream of the geothermal project: Provided, further, That this provision may be applied to oil and gas exploration as determined by the Department.
