Composition and Compensation. - The sangguniang panlungsod, the legislative body of the City, shall be composed of the city vice mayor as the presiding officer, the twelve (12) regular sanggunian members, the president of the city chapter of the liga ng mga barangay and the president of the panlungsod na pederasyon ng mga sangguniang kabataan, and such other members as may be provided for by law.

The regular members of the sangguniang panlungsod, the sectoral representatives and other members shall be elected or appointed in the manner as may be provided for by law. They shall receive a minimum monthly compensation corresponding to Salary Grade Twenty-five (25) as prescribed under the Salary Standardization Law and the implementing guidelines issued pursuant thereto, and such other compensation, emoluments and allowances as may be determined by law.
