Exclusiveness of Benefits. Whenever other laws provide similar benefits for the same contingencies covered by this Act, the member who qualifies for the benefit shall have the option to choose which benefits will be paid to him. However, if the benefits provided by the law chosen are less than the benefits provided under this Act, the System shall pay only the difference: Provided, however, That, when the disability or death of an employee or member is work-connected as defined in Presidential Decree No. 626, as amended, he shall be entitled to the benefits therefore as provided herein, chargeable against the State Insurance Fund.
