Immunity of Trafficked Persons from Criminal Liability. - Victims of trafficking in persons as defined under Republic Act No. 9208, or the "Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003", as amended, shall be free from criminal liability for acts committed as a direct result of being trafficked. Conviction under Republic Act No. 9208, as amended, shall not be a prerequisite to this defense, and it shall be sufficient to show clear and convincing evidence of circumstances under prevailing manuals, guidelines, and similar instruments on victim identification issued by the Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking (IACAT).
