The City Land Transportation Officer.
a. The city land transportation officer must be a citizen of the Philippines, a resident of the City of Las Pias, of good moral character, a holder of a college degree and a first grade civil service eligible or its equivalent. He must have acquired experience in land transportation work for at least three (3) years immediately preceding the date of his appointment.
b. The city land transportation officer shall receive such compensation, emoluments and allowances as may be determined by law.
c. The city land transportation officer shall be under the direct supervision of the Land Transportation Office of the Department of Transportation and Communications, shall take charge of the City Land Transportation Office and shall:
1. Develop plans and strategies, and upon approval thereof by the city mayor, implement the same, particularly those which have to do with the land transportation regulation, development and management, and projects which the city mayor is empowered to implement and which the Sangguniang Panlungsod is empowered to provide;
2. Recommend to the Sangguniang Panlungsod and advise the city mayor on all matters related to land transportation in the City; and
3. Perform such other duties and functions and exercise such other powers as provided for under Republic Act No. 7160, otherwise known as the Local Government Code of 1991, and those that are prescribed by law, ordinance, or Department of Transportation and Communications and Land Transportation Office rules and regulations.
