The City Prosecutor.

a. The city prosecutor must be a citizen of the Philippines, a resident of the City of Las Pias, of good moral character, and a member of the Philippine Bar. He must have acquired experience in handling criminal cases in court for at least three (3) years immediately preceding the date of his appointment.

b. The city prosecutor shall receive such compensation, emoluments and allowances as may be determined by law.

c. The city prosecutor shall be under the direct supervision of the Department of Justice, shall take charge of the Office of the City Prosecutor and shall:

1. Develop plans and strategies, and upon approval thereof by the city mayor, implement the same, particularly those which have to do with the prosecution of criminals and crime syndicates, and projects which the city mayor is empowered to implement and which the Sangguniang Panlungsod is empowered to provide;

2. Recommend to the Sangguniang Panlungsod and advise the city mayor on all matters related to the prosecution of criminals and crime syndicates in the City; and

3. Perform such other duties and functions and exercise such other powers as provided for under Republic Act No. 7160, otherwise known as the Local Government Code of 1991, and those that are prescribed by law, ordinance or relevant Department of Justice rules and regulations.
