The City Schools Division Superintendent.
a. The city schools division superintendent must be a citizen of the Philippines, a resident of the City of Las Pias, of good moral character, a holder of a college degree from a recognized college or university, and a first grade civil service eligible or its equivalent. He must have acquired experience practicing his profession in an educational institution for at least three (3) years immediately preceding the date of his appointment.
b. The city schools division superintendent shall receive such compensation, emoluments and allowances as may be determined by law.
c. The city schools division superintendent shall be under the direct supervision of the Department of Education, Culture and Sports, shall take charge of the Office of the City Schools Division Superintendent and shall:
1. Develop plans and strategies, and upon approval thereof by the city mayor, implement the same, particularly those which have to do with education development and management programs, and projects which the city mayor is empowered to implement and which the Sangguniang Panlungsod is empowered to provide;
2. Recommend to the Sangguniang Panlungsod and advise the city mayor on all matters related to education in the City;
3. Be in the front line in the supervision of principals and teachers assigned in the City, as well as sit as additional member of the local school board of the City; and
4. Perform such other duties and functions and exercise such other powers as provided for under Republic Act No. 7160, otherwise known as the Local Government Code of 1991, and those that are prescribed by law, ordinance or relevant Department of Education, Culture and Sports rules and regulations.
