Officials of the Island Garden City of Samal. The present elective officials of the three (3) municipalities of Babak, Samal and Kaputian shall continue to exercise their powers and functions until their terms shall have expired or until such time that a new election is held and the duly elected officials of the City shall have already qualified and assumed their offices.

The appointive officials and employees of the three (3) present municipalities shall likewise continue exercising their functions and duties as such and they shall be automatically absorbed by the city government of the Island Garden City of Samal: Provided, That the above officials and employees shall continue to receive the salaries they are receiving at the time of the approval of this Act until the new readjustment of salaries in accordance with law.
