Organizational Structure. - The PHILVOLCS shall be an attached agency of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) for purposes of policy and program coordination to ensure alignment with national science and technology policies and priorities.
The PHILVOLCS shall be headed by an Executive Director, with the rank and compensation of a Department Undersecretary. The Executive Director shall be assisted by three (3) Deputy Executive Directors with the rank and compensation equivalent to a Department Assistant Secretary under the following services:
(a) Operations;
(b) Research and Development and Science and Technology (S&T); and
(c) Administration, Finance , and Information and Communication Technology.
The Executive Director and Deputy Executive Directors shall be appointed by the President of the Philippines upon recommendation of the Secretary of the DOST.
